CHEMTREC®, a service of the American Chemistry Council (ACC), announced its first hazmat summit, will take place in Houston, TX from October 29 – 31, 2019, at the Westin Houston Memorial City. The three-day CHEMTREC International Hazmat Summit will be the premier destination to discuss the key topics of today and the trends of tomorrow. The 2019 program includes sessions about complying with regulatory training requirements, lifecycle of a spill, improving carrier relationships, powering the future with lithium batteries, as well as regional and regulatory updates.

Adopted by the UN and slated for inclusion in 49 CFR and other regulatory standards, the regulation will have a significant impact on the lithium battery industry. Beginning January 2020, manufacturers and distributors of lithium cells and batteries must make available a lithium battery test summary document to everyone in the supply chain.
