The American Chemistry Council, (ACC) updated a critical aspect of its Responsible Care® Security Code this past year. Initially published in June of 2002, the ACC Responsible Care Security Code provides a framework for its members to improve the security and safety of their chemical operations throughout the supply chain. As a mandated requirement for ACC membership, conformance to the Responsible Care program and its management systems (either the Responsible Care Management System (RCMS®) or RC14001®) is evaluated by third-party auditors.

CHEMTREC’s Crisis Solutions team recently visited the town of Garnett, Anderson County (KS) to run a full-scale exercise involving a local chemical plant for their local emergency management team and emergency responders. CHEMTREC had worked closely with the Anderson County team for several months to identify credible risks and capabilities which the county needed to test, and to turn this into a viable scenario.

Our client is one of the world's largest producers of Latin foods with factories in North and Central America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. The Head of Manufacturing for the UK’s largest site was seeking to ensure their plant, and their wider UK operations, were in a state of readiness for any disruption. A fire at another plant in Europe, supply chain uncertainty, and the COVID pandemic had highlighted the importance of effective preparedness for incident, emergency, and crisis situations. Our client sought out CHEMTREC’s crisis experts to run an immersive training and exercise session for her senior management team, recognizing CHEMTRECs strong track record in supporting teams less familiar with crisis and emergency management.
