Overview
CHEMTREC Consulting Solutions is seeking U.S.-based senior crisis, emergency management and business continuity professionals (CONOPS) to support client projects, primarily in the United States, with occasional international assignments.

We are looking for credible, client-focused consultants whose experience aligns with the assignments CHEMTREC most often delivers.
Qualifications and Relevant Experience
- Senior experience in crisis management, emergency management, business continuity or organizational resilience within chemical, energy, logistics, manufacturing, government, critical infrastructure or another high-consequence environment.
- A relevant graduate qualification or equivalent professional experience; recognized credentials such as ISO 22301, BCI or Incident Command System certification are advantageous.
- Experience assessing and improving crisis and emergency management programs, including governance, plans, procedures, escalation routes, command structures and business continuity arrangements.
- Proven ability to design and facilitate training, tabletop exercises, functional drills or full-scale exercises for operational teams and senior leaders.
- Experience converting exercise, plan, and incident evaluations into practical improvement roadmaps that enhance customer readiness, strengthen emergency response capabilities, and maximize the value delivered through CHEMTREC's 24/7 emergency response services.
- Strong consulting, facilitation and communication skills, including the ability to advise executives, engage operational personnel and produce concise reports, presentations and briefings.
- Ability to work independently, manage project commitments and client relationships, collaborate with CHEMTREC teams, and adapt methods to different organizations, sectors and cultures.
Key Projects Associates May Support
- Readiness assessments and roadmaps: reviewing crisis, emergency response and business continuity capabilities, identifying gaps and prioritizing improvements.
- Plans and operating frameworks: developing or enhancing enterprise and site-level plans, governance, escalation protocols and incident command arrangements.
- Training and exercises: designing and facilitating executive crisis leadership programs, workshops, tabletop exercises and operational simulations.
- Incident and exercise improvement: conducting debriefs and after-action reviews, capturing lessons, and supporting implementation of corrective actions.
- Client deliverables and advisory support: preparing concise reports, briefings and training materials, and contributing to specialist advisory engagements, methodologies and tools.

Engagement Model and Contract Terms
This is an independent contractor (1099) consulting opportunity. Associate Consultants are engaged on an as-needed basis to support client projects and may accept assignments based on their availability, expertise, and interest. Engagements are project-specific and there is no minimum guarantee of work.
Assignments are scoped and agreed on a project-by-project basis. Associates may accept or decline work according to their availability and interests; no minimum workload is guaranteed, and compensation may be hourly, daily or project based. Posted as remote but could work from our Falls Church, Virginia office if preferred)
