For customers who are currently registered with CHEMTREC, there are two options for submitting information on products you ship.
Option 1: Your company website
If all of your company's Material Safey Data Sheets (MSDS) are available online, send the URL and instructions on accessing your documents to msds@chemtrec.com. If your website or in-house MSDS system is password-protected, we require a single user name and password. ALL documents must be available for products you ship, including consumer/finished products, private label products and raw ingredients.
Once your website is approved by CHEMTREC, it will be used as the sole source of MSDS for products you ship. Be sure to let us know if the URL or access to your system is ever modified.
Option 2: Electronic documents
If you are submitting over 300 MSDS documents, you must provide an electronic index with your submission or your documents will not be processed. For instructions and a sample index, click here.
Send in a CHEMTREC Submission Form with each set of documents. The information you include on this form will help expedite the processing of your submission.
Please note: due to the high volume of documents received each day, we are unable to provide immediate confirmation of reciept.
Electronic Document Requirements:
- Each MSDS document should be sent as an individual file. File types we accept are pdf, doc, xls, tif, and txt.
- File names should not contain # ~ % .. & { } + and should not begin with a space.

Foreign Language Documents
CHEMTREC welcomes MSDS in foreign languages. If you would like to send us your foreign language documents, please be sure to include an index with the English product/trade name and language of the MSDS.
Other Types of Shipments
One-Off or Immediate Shipping
For one-off shipping (a product you will only be shipping once) or immediate shipping (within 5 business days), fax or email your MSDS directly to the CHEMTREC Operations Center (+1 703-741-6090, ecenter@chemtrec.com). Please include the CHEMTREC Submission Form with your document.
Any MSDS sent to the Operations Center will not be entered into our system. If you would like them to remain on file, please send a copy to the MSDS Department (msds@chemtrec.com) as well.
Products without an MSDS
For shipments such as steady waste streams, lab specimens, and radioactive materials that do not require or have an appropriate MSDS or profile, please use one of the documents below:
