TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES 

TRANSCAER®: CHEMTREC is a proud sponsor of the TRANSCAER (Transportation Community Awareness and Emergency Response) initiative, a voluntary national outreach effort that focuses on assisting communities prepare for and respond to a possible hazardous material transportation incident. Each year, TRANSCAER provides unique hands-on training using actual transportation equipment to thousands of emergency responders and local officials, at hundreds of sites nationwide.

CSXSAFE: CSXSAFE offers participants the opportunity to gain an understanding of how railroads operate, including some of the hazards of working around the rails and necessary protocols to keep responders safe. This web-based program takes less than an hour to complete, and is intended to provide important information to public agency personnel in fire and police departments, rescue and emergency medical organizations.

The Talking Freight Seminar Series: The US DOT Federal Highway Administration's free web-based seminar series is a convenient way for transportation practitioners to broaden their freight knowledge base and develop new skills. 

The Office of Hazardous Materials Safety Hazardous Materials :  To help the regulated community comply with the requirements of the Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR), PHMSA's Training and Outreach staffs provide publications, self-training products, and in-person training opportunities.

Upcoming American Chemistry Council Conferences & Workshops

International Emergency Response Summit: Conceived and sponsored by CHEMTREC, the CHEMTREC International Emergency Response Summit was held February 22-24, 2006 in Miami, FL for the purpose of sharing information among chemical industry responders to provide them with a better understanding of the challenges, and possible solutions, associated with responding to chemical incidents in foreign countries.
